Baby Update

Madeleine is now 3 weeks old. Somewhere around 7-8 days old, she learned the fine art of crying to get what she wants. Actually, in the space of about 2 hours, she went from *crying* to get what she wants, to *screaming* to get what she wants. She's still the most spoiled baby in the history of civilization- I don't know that Madeleine has gone as much as 10 minutes in her whole life without being held or cuddled. And we wouldn't have it any other way.

She's hooked up to an apnea monitor 23 out of 24 hours. She hasn't had any trouble breathing at all (or any health problems, really), it's just to be safe since there was never a real cause of death for Daniel last year. Speaking of which, both Taylor and Joshua are super-concerned about Madeleine all the time. They have to go check on her when she's in the other room, just to make sure she hasn't gone anywhere. I don't think I could count the numbers of hugs & kisses they give their sister each day.

Besides taking care of Madeleine, we're still trying to keep busy and have fun. Derrick is about halfway done putting a new porch up, and he took the boys swimming the other day (forgot the sunscreen- ouch!). Joshua had a birthday, of course, where he got a bunch of Star Wars toys.

Here are some more pictures of the girl. Everyone who sees her says that she looks just like Joshua did at that age, except a little more feminine. And, as we all know, Joshua is about 95% Caroline and 5% Derrick, so it's no wonder that Madeleine is a beautiful girl.
